A Farm is born

The Talking Berry Farm was a thought that became a bunch of ideas that have become a reality.  We thought of things that are important to us.  These thoughts ranged from lifelong goals - like spending time together as a family, training our children by example, teaching them good work ethic, and how to be more self-sufficient - to fairly simple goals, such as being able to eat nutritious foods.  We began searching for ideas of how we could achieve these goals.  Our friends graciously contributed ideas and spent lots of time listening while we sifted through possibilities.  Though the process of getting to where we are now has taken some time, getting started was quick.  It was only a couple of months from the time we thought of making a career change until we had ordered plants and were looking for land to purchase.  We had started our berry farm.

We reserved our first major order of berry plants before we had found land, but after a few months, we settled on a property and began preparing for our first large planting.  Our order of plants arrived in late fall of 2013, and we had many good friends come and help us plant.  Thankfully, we finished planting the day before the ground froze and winter began! Since then, we've found many more exciting plants, and keep adding to our farm.  All of our plants have been planted by hand.  This has been no small task considering we now have thousands of plants in the ground.

We raise chickens and heritage turkeys that provide us with quality meat,  fresh eggs, and plenty of fertilizer.  We also have Anatolian Shepherds that guard our flocks and fields, and sometimes have puppies available.
